Q: What attracts you to networking and specifically what are the main benefits of attending Circle Events

A: The events bring together energetic people who want to 'make things happen' in their business.
The organisers facilitate the opportunity for unpressurised, short explanations of what each person is able to offer.
Importantly, a social atmosphere of interest and co-operation is fostered, thereby making the events enjoyable as well as useful. Those attending know that, through the conversations they have, they will gain tips and ideas useful to their business and are able to benefit whether or not they 'close deals' at the events.

Q: What advice would you give to businesses that are new to networking and specifically new to Circle Events?
If there are people that you know at the events, minimise your contact with them at events and maximise your time with strangers. If you tend to be introvert by nature, ask the organisers to 'break the ice' with someone for you to meet'.

Attend the event with the expectation that you will meet interesting friendly people and may not immediately generate strong interest in your product or service.

When describing what you have to offer, do it in such a way that the person you are telling will enjoy telling other people outside of the event.

Remember that new customers are not only of value to you in buying from you, but as an advocate of what you do

Finding a good supplier can be as useful as finding a buyer

Q: Tell us about your company and briefly describe your products and services

A: Advek Ltd Specialist in Print, offer a fantastic printing service. We are Lithographic and Digital printers. 60% of our work is with many Birmingham Agencies, some of our main customers include Mercedes Benz, Beefeater Restaurants, BMW, Hilton Hotels, Heart FM, NHS just to name a few.

We are the official print suppliers to Aston Villa, which shows our outstanding service and quality. We have just started working very closely with West Bromwich Albion. The other 40% of our work is with the smaller business. Our design and customer service is second to none. We can offer a huge range of printing, starting with business cards, compliment slips etc, to brochures, exhibition products, you name we can print it. We can do window and van signs.

We are also able to offer any Direct Mail Campaign.

Q: Briefly describe the new contacts you’ve made and any new business you have received either directly or indirectly from attending Circle Events

I have made many new contacts from attending the Circle Events. I have gained new business from a Marketing company, a hypnotherapist, an insurance company, plus more ongoing work. I have also got involved in other networking events, via Circle Events and have gained more business and more ongoing contacts.

Q: What attracts you to networking and specifically what are the main benefits of attending Circle Events

A: At Circle Events, I have made many new contacts and new friends. I really cannot believe how many lovely people are there. The first time I went, I walked in by myself and felt very scared, but I really needn’t have.

Both the breakfast and evening events offer such an easy way of chatting to potential customers and hopefully I can help my contacts. Obviously the main benefit is to make everyone aware of your company, what you can offer and by attending these networking events I am meeting people, I just would have never met before.

Q: What advice would you give to businesses that are new to networking and specifically new to Circle Events?

I would say just do not hesitate about going to any of Circle Events, they are such fantastic events. I just love every minute of it. It is fabulous meeting and chatting to so many interesting people.

Make sure you have relevant materials to be able to sell you business to others, and make sure when attending the breakfasts you have your little speech prepared. I was chatting to another person who also attends the Circle Events, and we were saying what a relaxed and very friendly time we have every time we go, its just fantastic.

For me the best speaker and the most enjoyable and entertaining person was Derek the Hypnotherapist. His speech was fabulous and when he hypnotized Chris from Anchor Promotions, it was amazing; I totally enjoyed every minute, thank you.

A: Anchor Promotions is an on-line marketing and web design company, providing businesses with a host of services including, web design, search engine optimization, PPC marketing, email marketing and product launches.

Since joining Circle Events we have made new relationships with customers and suppliers. We have done work for several of the circle event members, but the main benefit is the work we have gained indirectly, where these new contacts have referred us on. We can attribute approximately 15k of new business to circle events so far, and we are currently bidding on a 75k contract as a result of referrals. I can’t recommend this network enough.

Q: What attracts you to networking and specifically what are the main benefits of attending Circle Events

A: Our work can be very insular, spending most days behind a computer screen. We started going to networking to build new relationships and widen our own circle of contacts. The main reason why we have stuck with circle is the fact that it is not too regimented, it is relaxed while still maintaining the focus on improving business… and the large breakfasts!

Q: What advice would you give to businesses that are new to networking and specifically new to Circle Events?

Just come along, it is a relaxed friendly environment where you can meet others with similar interests.

Just want to say thanks to the both of you. This network is awesome. I have made great contacts on a business level, and I have also made some good friends. You guys do a cracking job keep it up.

A:  Quality Office Supplies Ltd is a family owned company established in 1994 and currently having 4 branches in Bilston (head office), Coventry, Nottingham and Gatwick. We offer free, next day delivery with no minimum order on all stationery/consumables but if a customer is desperate and the item required is in stock then we can deliver the same day!

I have detailed our service above but would like to add that I haven’t lost a customer yet and don’t intend to as I genuinely love what I do, so I can promise you a service from an account manager who is available to help 24/7. So it comes down to price. In 99% of companies that I have quoted for I have saved the company money across the board on all items. Let me come into your company and look at your expenditure and I will reduce your costs, if I can’t I will tell you you’re getting a great price and you then have peace of mind knowing you’re getting a great deal, it’s a win-win situation.

 

Q: Briefly describe the new contacts you’ve made and any new business you have received either directly or indirectly from attending Circle Events

A: Circle Events was the first networking group I joined.  I hated cold calling and wanted a way of attracting new business and improving the company’s sales. Circle Events has been a godsend and I have around 40 new customers since joining, directly as a result of Circle Events. They are professionally organised events and are always very well attended. People these days buy off people, not saleman so what better way to promote your company through your own personality.

 

Q: What attracts you to networking and specifically what are the main benefits of attending Circle Events

A: As a stationery supplier, every company is a prospective new customer to me but competition is tough out there. By networking and getting to know the company Director’s and MD’s  I can build relationships based on trust. Who better to endorse you to the stationery or furniture buyer than the Director/MD. I find this way I am building a better personal relationship with the companies I deal with and as a result I haven’t yet lost a customer to a competitor!

 

 

Q: What advice would you give to businesses that are new to networking and specifically new to Circle Events?

Like I say, ‘People buy from people’! We are in the middle of a recession and work won’t come to you, you have to go out there and fight for it! I now class my fellow members as friends and who better to champion your companies services than friends who are also customers. Everybody is a potential customer in the room, regardless of your profession so never discount anyone. You never know who might ask you to recommend another company’s service in the future. I have managed to pass many referrals since joining Circle Events and I’m continually surprised as to how many of my fellow members recommend me to their customers.

 

Both the breakfast and evening events are excellent and I attend both every month. Sophie and Alastair also like to think outside the box and provide networking events that appeal to all and keep things ‘young’ and ‘exciting’ so come along as everyone is very friendly and we will welcome you with open arms.
